About The Artwork Ever since my early childhood in the countryside in Denmark I have developed a fascination, almost an obsession, with the universe, the cosmos. Stars, galaxies, planets, indeed all heavenly bodies floating in this immense darkness make me dream. My imagination simply works overtime, and that is why this series is ever ongoing. As much as I admire science, and the constant new exciting discoveries, I let my imagination run riot, sometimes with a dash of humour mixed in. All my space paintings are very colourful, vibrant, and painted in acrylics and on canvas, almost always of the same size, 39” x 39”. If I should describe the style myself I would say abstract space fantasy, surrealist as well, and this particular painting has my favourite colour blue in many shades as well as a playful lady – she may indeed be space-hopping…I hope that anybody who looks at it may feel some of the magic, too.
