Finding resources to teach your students about Australia’s colonial past can be tricky. This unit, along with its accompanying powerpoint and lapbook activities, will help your students understand the reasons behind Australia’s colonisation and the difficulties faced during the expansion of European settlement in Australia. It will adequately assist you in meeting the Australian Year 5 History curriculum requirements (version 8.4 and 9.0). PLEASE NOTE: this unit has been updated to comply with the new Australian Curriculum 9.0 standards. The old version (version 8.4) is also still included in this bundle for now while schools make the transition to the new curriculum.
